On 11 July in the evening, the Representation of the South Moravian Region to the EU co-organized a farewell meeting with the Permanent Representative of the The Czech Republic to the EU, Ambassador Martin Povejšil - the traditional Wine Party with the participation of a delegation from the South Moravian Region. The event for approximately 200 VIP guests, especially from the diplomatic area and European institutions is traditionally connected with the presentation of South Moravian wines introduced by sommeliers from the Wine Fund.
Additionally, the City of Brno was also presented at the Wine Party for the second time. One of the best Czech bartenders made cocktails based on sparkling wine (champagne??? – to je chráněný název, opravdu používal pravé šampaňské?? ) and wine. This year's edition was exceptional, because Mr Povejšil, in his opening speech, said goodbye to his colleagues and friends after nine years of working in Brussels.
The Representation also prepared the programnme for the delegation from the Region in Brussels. They participated in a consultation with representatives of local and regional associations and other stakeholders to exchange views on the proposals for new regulations for the implementation of the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund after 2020. Furthermore, the delegation met with Jakub Mazur and Eva Srnová from Financial and Cohesion Unit of the Permanent Representation of the The Czech Republic to the EU and Marek Polach, who, in addition to the activities of the Representation of the City of Prague to the EU, did a tour of the representative premises of the Prague House in Brussels.
